After much thought and prayer, we chose Sunday July 6th, 2014 to be the day that we blessed Zachary. I don't remember all the variables that went into why we chose that day, but the one I remember most was that the 4th of July is always a special day for us. It was last year when we discovered a surprise at Lucas's grave. His headstone had been placed. We felt that was a special gift from Lucas to us. This year we also felt that this weekend was special and wanted Zachary to have his special day on that very weekend. So we got approval by the Bishop and sent out the word to family that they were invited. Jaret, Sierra, and the girls came. Geran, Anna, and the kids came. Grandma & Grandpa Bailor came, along with my brother (uncle Ryan). It was so nice to have family there!
The blessing was beautiful. It was very touching and it was obvious (by his voice) that Brandt really felt the spirit. It was the quietest that the ward chapel had been all morning and we have a HUGE ward. 600+ people. You could hear a pin drop other than Brandt giving the blessing. Lots of teary eyes. Zachary was blessed with lots of wonderful things. A few of those things being that he would be a man of honesty and

We had lots of family in town for Zac;s blessing. We had Kaia with us, and we were wondering how she would do during all the booms. She was only nine months old, so I was nervous that she would be scared. She wasn't! She loved being outside with all the family and the fireworks didn't even phase her.
My friend let me borrow her Moby wrap and it was the first time I was able to successfully wear Zac. It was so awesome! I loved wearing him, he snuggled right into me and went to sleep! Such a great experience! We had so much fun together!
